Yemeni sources say that Yemeni security forces have arrested at least 11 UN-affiliated staff in Sanaa and Hodeidah on suspicion of spying for Mossad.
According to these sources, these individuals were suspected of having connections with Mossad.
The arrest of these individuals has not yet been confirmed by official Yemeni media or authorities, but António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, while confirming the news in his first reaction, called for the unconditional release of the detained UN staff and personnel from “civil society” organisations.
The news of these arrests comes after the recent Israeli Air Force attack on Sanaa, which resulted in the killing of the Prime Minister and several ministers of the Sanaa government.
