Protest leader Shika Bresler wrote on her X account this morning, “We are putting an end to the madness” and announced that a protest against the government would be held this Thursday in Rabin Square. Alongside the usual slogans, “Enough of sacrificing our children in a war of lies! Enough of abandoning the kidnapped! Enough of the coup!” Bresler added another slogan: “We defeated the fanatics in Iran, we will defeat them in Israel too!”
A day after one of the most complex operations and military successes in Israeli history, the comparison between the existential and military situation between Israel and Iran and the reality of domestic politics is seen as a disdain for the real battle the soldiers fought. For example, one commenter wrote to Bresler: “Your madness has no end and no cure.”
