Maduro: Venezuela Ready to Defend Its Sovereignty

During large-scale military exercises, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro declared that his country is fully prepared to defend its peace, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

“After twenty consecutive days of threats, psychological warfare, and a blockade against the Venezuelan people, today we are stronger than yesterday, and today we are better prepared than ever to safeguard peace, sovereignty, and our nation’s territorial integrity,” he said.

“Neither sanctions, nor blockades, nor psychological warfare have succeeded, nor will they succeed. There is no way for them to enter Venezuela. We Venezuelans and Colombians, united for peace, prosperity, and sovereignty, stand watch over our land, preserve it, and protect it,” he added.

In recent years, Venezuela has entered into a series of economic, military, security, energy, and cultural agreements with the Islamic Republic of Iran in an effort to counter United States policies
