Israeli Army Radio quoted the head of the army operations department as saying:
Troops are preparing to enter Gaza, but there is no guarantee that this will lead to the end of the war with Hamas.
If necessary, we are ready to fight Hamas for years.
If we achieve the intended objectives and the conditions for the end of the war in Gaza are provided, we may remain in some areas.
The military has prepared a plan that will allow Gaza to stop operations at any stage when an agreement is reached.
Even if a comprehensive agreement is reached, it will mean surrender and defeat.
