The video claims to show Guy Gilboa-Dalal in Gaza City in late August, where he says he and eight others are being held and will remain despite a planned Israeli ground offensive. It also shows captive Alon Ohl, a look of concern on his face.
In response, Itamar Ben-Governor, Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, called for a full occupation of Gaza, claiming that this was the only way to “return the hostages in safety.” Families of prisoners killed in Gaza believe that the war-mongering actions of the far-right and Netanyahu caused the deaths of their loved ones.
Mr. Ohl and Mr. Gilboa-Dalal are two of the 48 hostages held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
The terrorists have said they are willing to release the prisoners if a lasting ceasefire is reached and both sides commit to the ceasefire, but Netanyahu says Hamas must be destroyed.
Netanyahu had previously said that he would completely destroy the terrorists of Hezbollah, Hamas, the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Houthis, and the IRGC in a short period of time.
He had also said that he would destroy Iran’s missile, space, and nuclear capabilities, but after two years and despite the help of NATO and the United States, none of these promises have been implemented.
Hamas announced in August that it had accepted a plan from regional mediators Qatar and Egypt that would release 10 live hostages and the bodies of 18 hostages killed during a 60-day ceasefire in exchange for several Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli jails.
Netanyahu has not responded to the plan, but insists that all hostages must be released in one move.
