Liberman: If Netanyahu Becomes Prime Minister Again, It Will Be the End of Israel

Avigdor Liberman, former Israeli Defence Minister and leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, has called for an end to Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership, warning that his actions are damaging Israel’s future.

According to Israel’s Radio 103, Liberman said that if Netanyahu were to return as prime minister, “it could mean the end of Israel.”

He also warned about Israel’s relations with the United States, noting: “The current cabinet’s policies have already had a negative impact in America, and public opinion there is now turning against Israel. This situation could have serious and long-term consequences for Israel.”

Liberman further criticised the state of the Israeli military, highlighting a severe shortage of personnel, especially reservists, and said that all must be called up for service.

Recent polls in the United States also reflect this concern. According to a Harvard-Harris survey cited today (Sunday) by the New York Post, more than 60% of Generation Z Americans (aged 18–24) express sympathy towards Hamas and hold negative views of Israel.

While overall support for Israel remains relatively high among the wider US population, the generational divide and Gen Z’s contrasting attitudes towards Israeli policies are complicating the political and international outlook for the United States.

American Gen Z has shifted its perception of Israel in light of the Gaza war in recent months. Over the past two years, Israel has carried out large-scale attacks in the Gaza Strip, resulting in significant civilian casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure.

Images and videos of these events, shared rapidly on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, have directly shaped young people’s perspectives.
